luv headbands and hair ties range from luvbooks

I saw some headbands in a shoe shop which were $25 and I knew I could make my own for much less.  Introducing the luv range, so beautifully modelled by my daughter.  These are headbands and hair ties made by me.  From the top ,luv chocolate, luv bright, luv candy, luv sunshine, then luv evening, luv Lily and luv pastel. Luv Lily has gone in the parcel for a little girl who is 6 to 8years old for under the tree at church.  Luv candy is included in a present for a little girl at Playgroup.  Each year, we hold a Christmas party where we give a present to another mum, and to two children, in a Kris Kringle fashion.  This will be our seventh Christmas party as the original babies are all seven!  I am not sure of the homes for the other headbands, yet! thanks for looking and have a fabulous week.

teachers' presents this year

This year's homemade teachers' gifts are monogrammed note cards with matching envelopes in a handmade folder. This is the pack for Miss Sue, as you can tell by the S monogram!  They are 4 x 6 inches, and are a great way to use up scraps of patterned paper and cardstock.  smiles

My Little Shoe Box Sketch Challenge October

61849_1583092090821_1041276870_1674763_2686269_n

 http://mylittleshoebox.typepad.com/my-little-shoebox/2010/10/more-sketch-inspiration-from-our-design-team.html
check out the challenge from My Little Shoebox, which features a great sketch to follow.  My layout is 'student leader' and I have used My Little Shoebox papers from the Imaginary Friends range. My trees are from the Roar cardstock paper. The gorgeous transparency across the page is a Just Add Butter overlay and the white tree is an Imaginary Friends overlay.  The reverse of the Roar cardstock paper,  {from where I fussy cut the trees} is the ruled paper I used for the journal box and behind the title.  My accents of a heart and circle on the top RHS are from the Away We Go Diecut Cardstock. I have also used staples to continue with my 'school' look.  On the black Bazzil cardstock border, I have written " do not be afraid to go out on a limb...that is where the fruit is". There is also an olive Bazzill cardstock and some kraft paper.   My journalling is in point form and reads . 4th October 2010.  Jasmine, Hayden and Duane.  Chanel College. Student Leader Ceremony. Jasmine: 2011 Student Leader for Stella Maris.   Special mention to Tracey Campbell for giving me the My Little Shoebox collections.  smiles and thanks for reading my rather long post!

Scrap the boys Devil is in the details October

http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com/2010/10/challenge-2-devil-is-in-details-fabric.html.  I really enjoyed doing this page of Hayden with Kaisercraft's lovely lace page, die cut elements and ribbons from the homemade collection.  I got to use some fabric I had sewn up many years ago in an American Indian seminole style across the page, and  I also hand stitched some running stiches and three little crosses on the bottom edge of the fabric.  There is a piece of kraft paper in there, and the edge of my layout is distressed and inked.  I was so happy with the way the papers and ribbon matched with the throw on the chair behind Hayden.  smiles and thanks for looking.

My Creative Slice/Scrapbook Fantasies October Page Sketch Challenge.

Alicia's October Sketch challenge was the basis for my 2007 page, of Lily with Santa.  Instead of journalling, which I always do, I elected to use the Kaisercraft die cut which reads " Christmas, my child, is love in action.  Every time we love, every time we give, it's Christmas.  Dale Evans Roger." I love how the flowers match Lily's dress perfectly. http://www.aliciaredshaw.com.au/2010/10/01/october-2010-layout-sketch-challenge/          smiles

My Creative Slice/Scrapbook Fantasies October card sketch challenge.

Alicia has a card sketch challenge over at http://www.aliciaredshaw.com.au/2010/10/20/card-sketch-challenge-october-2010/ and at the Girl's Night In crop on Saturday night last, I made three cards using her sketch as inspiration.  smiles.

Get Picky October Challenge

Get Picky are a new challenge blog and their first challenge was a page using this sketch.  This is Jasmine just before her second Christmas being such a cheeky little Christmas elf! My favourite part of my layout is the little gold droplets behind the gift box on the right hand side.  smiles and thanks for looking!

Kraft it up challenge October

Kraft it up suggests to create a layout using this sketch as your inspiration, your only requirement is to use KRAFT of course LOL, feel free to flip/rotate and make sure you have fun, everything else is totally up to you!!!

I found these rather sweet photos of Jasmine on her second birthday...she is now 16!  I got to use my glimmermisted paper from another challenge, and some gorgeous ribbons.  thanks for looking.  smiles

Scrap the boys October challenge

Trick or treat is the challenge at scrap the boys: TRICK -They all have one…you know that trick they play on you whether it be copying everything you say or shadowing you so you don’t know where they are.
Or/
TREAT – scrap about your boy’s favourite thing …that one thing you know he will consider a huge treat.

As soon as I saw the challenge, I knew it had to be about Hayden and snake lollies.  He loves the Natural Confectionery snakes. ( I love the yellow ones particularly).
I glimmermisted some white cardstock, which looks a little like snake skin.  He was in his PJs ( where little four year old boys love to be) and I copied the Wanted word from his PJ top into my title.
thanks for looking.  smiles.

from Scrap the girls October challenge

Scrap the girls' blog suggests to take inspiration from the following Shakespeare quote…..
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet."
and….
**Extra criteria - flowers & buttons**

When there are three girls in our household with flower names, it was hard to choose one!  Jasmine's shirt colours matched so well with the papers in the Melissa Frances range so kindly given to me by Susan Longman.  I fussy cut and inked some papers and used some gorgeous doilies and handmade flower too.  My border is the quote suggested by Scrap the girls in a soft green ink.  thanks for looking.  smiles!

Scrap the girls challenge September

Scrap the girls challenge: September - the beginning of spring! Scrap a Layout using a photo of a "first" or "new beginning" - examples could be, first day of school, first haircut, new home, new marriage - the possibilities are endless!Extra criteria - Use a WHITE cardstock base page, to make your entries look crisp & fresh for a new season :)
I had fun making this page of Lily on New Year's Day playing with the balloons I had brought home from a function the night before.  Again, I am grateful to Tracey Campbell for my mylittleshoebox goodies, which I have used here, and a sweet crotcheted flower from Becci.  This is the same child as featured on Nanny McPhee tooth....I told you she was much prettier than when featured on that page! My journalling reads I went out New Year's Eve with Andrina and Naomi, and brought home lots of pink and silver balloons.  Lily (and Hayden) had lots of fun with them.  The quote I have writted on the yellow and pink flower is A child's laughter is sunshine you can hear ( Mike Boudreaux)
Smiles and thanks for looking.

Scrap the boys devil is in the details September

Okay, a page with metal.  What could be more appropriate than using alfoil as my husband works at an alumina refinery!I followed the sketch and was pleased to use some papers that have been sitting in my stash for a long time.  I love this photo of Hayden.  He was quite the poser that day and loved having his photo taken. My journalling reads Hayden Robert Oct 2009, when he was 3.  Such a fun personality!  He loved the shoot.

Kraft it up challenge September

Kraft it up suggests:
Create a layout using Kraft and this image for inspiration...
Remember you can take anything out of the image, the banner, the colours, patterns etc...
As soon as I saw the image, I knew which photo I was going to use of Hayden in blue and Lachlan in red.  I have been wanting to use a page from a book, too, and I think the Beatrix Potter illustration featuring a boy in red and a boy in blue, was perfect.  Thanks to my prize from Susan Longman, I could mist, make my first ever banner, and print my stars. I sprayed the page with the banner and matting in place, then moved them to have some kraft showing.   Other embellishments were from my first ever swap, so thanks ladies if you recognise your handiwork.
I have since given up trying to get Hayden's shorts from that play in the mud clean!
smiles

Scrap the boys extra challenge

“Who’s your daddy?” is the extra challenge...scrapping about our boys and their special relationships with their Dads
I have used papers again from Tracey Campbell and mylittleshoebox and created "ride with dad".  The journalling is under the door and reads, Hayden and Duane ready for a bike ride.  We have always had a baby seat for Duane's bike and all the kids have loved going for rides with Daddy. It will be sad when Hayden is too big.
This was a fun page to do and I love how the colours in the photo match  the papers.
smiles!

Scrap the boys September challenge 1

This month for the first challenge of September Scrap the Boys has challenged to create a layout about our boys nickname and how it came about. Hayden has several nicknames, and I have listed them on the page: Haydy-Bob, Prince, Boyd, Haydos, Hayd, Boydstag, Pumpkin, Boy and Handsome.
I am very grateful to Tracey Campbell for sending me mylittleshoebox papers, which I have used on this page. This is Hayden's kindy photo and he is wearing his favourite blue kindy shirt.
thanks for looking.

scrap the girls challenge

over at scrap the girls, you will soon see my page "Nanny McPhee tooth", featuring Lily who played with a front wobbly tooth for a while there! We were pleased when it fell out!  I have also used another of Becci's crotcheted flowers; the red was the perfect colour to match the pp and the glimmermist.  thanks for looking.
Here is a close up of the 'lovely' photos, my journalling and a bit of Becci's handiwork! Lily really is a pretty girl!

scrap the boys devil is in the details August

My page entry to Scrap the boys..the challenge was to use ribbons on a page, and to follow a sketch, which I did.  I used ribbon to frame the photo and was happy with the little twist of ribbon. The edge is inked with 'grape' ink which is a bit hard to see when photographed on my chocolate lounge suite! I used another of Becci's crotchet flowers, too.  My journalling reads ' Our sweet little prince Hayden in his baptism outfit, April 2006.  The little prince with 3 big princess sisters.  {heart} u Mum.

scrap the boys challenge August 2010

Scrap the boys' challenge is a page with flowers, and your boy, perhaps showing his feminine side. I think I have managed to do both.   I was inspired by Shell at Easily Distracted of her use of a flower on the edge of a circle, on her page 'Apple of my eye',  and the flowers I used were made by Becci at http://beccisscrapjournal.blogspot.com/, which I won in her first giveaway.
My journalling reads: My pretty boy, Hayden, July 2009, aged 3 1/2 wearing the dress Jasmine wore when she was a similar age.  He has lots of feminine influence from his three big sisters - funny, pretty boy.
